One petal at a time
Every Sweet Flora piece begins as a small ball of cold porcelain clay, mixed to my own recipe and shaped by hand, petal by petal, until it looks as though it was just picked.
I first sculpted clay flowers as a hobby in 2000. I learned from teachers online, spent years developing a clay recipe of my own, and later travelled to Thailand to study with master artisans in the craft’s traditional home.
Today, every flower is still made in my small studio in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. Cold porcelain is fine, lightweight and air-dried, so it keeps the delicate softness of a petal while staying comfortable to wear.
The inspiration is personal. My grandmother loved to wear fresh flowers in her hair. Sweet Flora carries that gesture forward: a flower to wear for a wedding, a celebration, or an ordinary Tuesday, made to last a lifetime.
Hand-sculpted cold porcelain flowers, shaped petal by petal, rooted in Thai craft and made in the Netherlands.
